BIO
Lina Bembe is a Mexican performer and director based in Berlin. She sweats in selected alt-porn productions, ranging from feminist amateur to queer post-porn narratives and occasionally engages in non-explicit films about feminism and sexuality. More recently, Bembe directed her first short film called ‘Ritual Waves’. She has also been involved in various film projects of co-creation focused on racialised bodies within the porn industry. Bembe is one of the co-hosts of the Ersties Podcast, a show about feminism, sexuality and porn.
Bishop Black, also bringing in UNCENSORED his performance Eight of Swords, is a Berlin-based sex worker, porn performer and performance artist, originally from London. Bishop has been a prominent member of the queer alternative porn scene for more than five years and has been working in commercial porn on and off since his first film at the age of 23. Bishop is interested in sexual expression and fluidity, confronting the stereotypes that operate within pornography and exploring his own identity as a queer black man. In his neo-burlesque cabaret performances, Bishop plays with gender roles and expectations using the stage as a cathartic outlet where ritual, sex, sensuality and absurdity come together to challenge political structures -and make a few people go WTF.
Lina Bembe and Bishop Black are amongst the founding members of Sex School, a Berlin-based platform of explicit sex education films, created in 2017 with the aim to share the knowledge of a diverse community of sex workers, therapists and coaches by producing educational videos and online content.
TALK AND LUNCH
Bembe and Bishop will present to UNCENSORED the talk Porn and sex education. Why it is so hard to tell the difference?. Pornography is a genre usually blamed for offering a distorted, unrealistic depiction of what sex should be about. It is in so many ways pointed as a substitute for the inadequate sex education we receive. This idea is misleading; porn is a genre mostly related to fiction, yet so many people fail at separating reality from fantasy. Why it is so?
A delicious vegan lunch will be provided by Gaia Pulses (included in the ticket’s price).
