BIO
Micha Stella is an artist, bodyworker and filmmaker. In her work, she explores gender, sexuality, identity, love and relationships, through an ironic, erotic, feminist and queer point of view. Stella has directed Paris la Nuit (2009), Vivre Berlin (2013) and Berlin-Sarajevo (2014) with the artist Natasha Davis; she is currently editing the documentary Le Bel Animal. In 2013 she started collaborating with the choreographer and conceptual artist Felix Ruckert on different projects, from performances and music videos to workshops and healing retreats combining art, kink and body awareness. Since 2017 she has been co-curating with him the programme of Xplore festival talking place in Roma, Barcelona, and Copenhagen. Stella also runs workshops on female empowerment, conscious kink, consent, gender fluidity, and bondage and does rope performances with the artist Pilar Aldea. She believes that art and sex can change the world. Stella’s participation is match-funded by the Goethe-Institut London.
WORKSHOP
Micha Stella will bring to UNCENSORED the workshop Play with consent exploring the notions of offense and danger and their intersection with consent and power. Stella will address the systemic limitations that shape women’s sexualities and desires and propose sex-positive practices as a sexual right and a liberating creative tool. Play with consent will offer ways to reach a better understanding of physical and emotional boundaries (both personal and that of other people’s) and develop verbal and non-verbal agreements through participative play and bodywork, towards the creation of a culture of consent.
Please note that availability is limited for this workshop.
